Born in 1833, Francois Nicolas joined his cousin, J B Vuillaume in Paris in 1855. His bows combine unusual precision and elegance, and Vuillaume paid tribute to his skill by publicly recognising Voirin’s contribution to the Paris exhibition of 1867. This octagonal bow was made around 1875, and has a certificate of authenticity by Bernard Millant.
