The Ex-Amaryllis Fleming. Born in 1748, Francois Xavier Tourte was a pioneering bow designer and maker. His work encompassed the Cramer, Swan and Hatchet styles, culminating in the definitive form of the modern bow at the end of the 18th century. This cello bow dates from F X Tourte’s golden period and is offered for sale with the certificate of authenticity by Jean-Francois Raffin and correspondence from J & A Beare Ltd.
