Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi

Landolfi Cello

A fine Landolfi cello made on a compact model, with very pretty maple wood and an attractive golden varnish. Its warm, refined cantabile is ideally suited to the unaccompanied Bach movement performed by Raphael Wallfisch in the video, and Raphael explores its silky upper register to give a haunting rendition of the Dvorak concerto exerpt. This rare 18th century Milanese cello is sold with the certificate of authenticity by Charles Beare.
