Born in 1756, Lockey Hill followed in his father Joseph’s cello making footsteps, creating this cello around 1780. It has attractive maple wood and honey-coloured varnish. The tone is strong for what was probably made at the time as a female model with smaller string length, shorter dimensions and compact upper bouts. This cello is offered for sale with the certificate of authenticity by John Dilworth. Please contact us for price and more information if you are interested to buy a cello by Lockey hill.
