Made in Bologna in the first half of the 18th century, this Joannes Florenus Guidantus cello features a striking choice of wood and varnish. The table has an extremely pronounced grain, the back and ribs are made with highly-flamed maple, and the varnish is a stunning transparent golden colour. Its powerful and responsive tonal character is in harmony with its extrovert appearance. Offered for sale with the certificate of authenticity by Charles Beare.
