Born in 1800, Maire was probably trained by Etienne Pajeot. He became his assistant in Mirecourt, later moving to Paris where he worked for Gand, Vuillaume and Chanot. This fine and remarkably pure example has a certificate of authenticity by Cabinet D’archetiers Jean-Francois Raffin.
